Disaster Response Case Management Supervisor
This is a professional position responsible for the supervision of disaster response case managers. This position also provides long-term case management services to survivors of disaster. Salary commensurate with experience.
Essential Functions:
- Recruit, train, and supervise Case Managers and volunteer employees.
- Administer regular staff and case review meetings.
- Work collaboratively with local disaster response and long-term recovery community.
- Assist the Director of Case Management with monthly and quarter reporting to ensure compliance with funding requirements.
- Assist in the development and implementation of case management policies and procedures.
- Enter data timely and accurately into the web-based Coordinated Assistance Network (CAN) application and other databases, as required.
- Participate in initial and on-going workshops, seminars, education programs and other activities that promote professional growth and development.
- Client advocacy.
- Driving/travel required.
Qualifications:
- Three to five years of case management supervisory experience.
- One to three years of relevant experience in case management.
- Experience supervising volunteers.
- Master’s degree in social work or related field, preferred.
- Experience with disaster response case management, preferred.
- Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.
- Ability to handle all information with the utmost confidentiality.
- Computer literate.
- Possess sensitivity to the service population’s cultural and socio-economic characteristics.
- Possess a valid driver’s license and have an excellent driving record.
Disaster Response Case Manager
This is a professional position providing long-term case management services to survivors of natural disasters.
Essential Functions:
- Provide comprehensive, long-term case management services to clients.
- Manage caseload averaging 80 client cases per year.
- Prioritize client needs.
- Connect clients to community resources.
- Recruit, train, and supervise volunteer employees.
- Enter data timely and accurately into web-based Coordinated Assistance Network (CAN) application and other databases, as required.
- Participate in initial and on-going workshops, seminars, education programs and other activities that promote professional growth and development.
- Driving/travel required.
Qualifications:
- One to three years of relevant experience in case management.
- Bachelor’s degree in social work or related field, preferred.
- Experience with disaster response case management, preferred.
- Experience supervising volunteers, preferred.
- Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.
- Ability to handle all information with the utmost confidentiality.
- Computer literate.
- Possess sensitivity to the service population=s cultural and socio-economic characteristics.
- Possess a valid driver’s license and have an excellent driving record.
- The ability to work effectively within a Church related agency and specifically the Lutheran Church constituency
Disaster Response Case Manager – Volunteer
This a volunteer position providing support to professional case management services.
Essential Functions:
- Assist professional case managers with client intakes, assessments, and recovery planning.
- Assist with data entry into the Coordinated Assistance Network (CAN) system.
- Accompany case managers on home visits to clients.
- Assist with resource development for clients’ unmet needs.
- Assist with outreach and recruitment efforts for clients and/or volunteers.
- Participate in initial and on-going trainings.
- Filing, additional data entry, office work.
Qualifications:
- Experience working with survivors of disaster or populations in crisis preferred.
- Possess sensitivity to the service population’s cultural and socio-economic characteristics.
- Demonstrate computer literacy as appropriate.
- Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing as appropriate.
- Ability to work effectively within a faith-based agency.
- Ability to commit a minimum of 2 hours a week to volunteer activities.
